Buford Stewart

Mr. Buford Ronald Stewart, 77, of Lexington, NC, passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.  Buford was born in Forsyth County on November 1, 1944, to the late Raymond Stewart and Helen Pardon Stewart.  He worked for the city of Winston-Salem, retiring in 2006.  Buford loved to fish, work in his yard, traveling to the mountains and going on cruises.  He especially cherished the time spent with his family and friends.  Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife, Catherine Cook Stewart of the home; son, Charles Powers (Lisa); three daughters, Michelle Land (Leland), Donna McNeely (Allen), and Christie Weisner (Keith); grandchildren, Michele Burdette, Cayla Sweet, Brandon Powers, Larry Dean Land, Harley Land, Christopher Pedley, Joshua Phillips, Michael McKnight, and Megan Weisner; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Catherine Shapiro (Rich) and Carolyn Snider; special aunt, Carolyn Pardon; special cousin, Tom Pardon; and numerous nieces, nephews and his fur babies.  Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, January 31, 2022, at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Brother Matt Morrison and Brother Frank Shumate officiating.  Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family of Mr. Stewart.
