Buford Orville Sadler

Buford Orville Sadler, 77, of Winston Salem, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.

Mr. Sadler was born March 24, 1946, in McDowell County, WV, to Cecil Raymond Sadler and Margaret Alice Shrader. He was greatly loved by his friends and family and had a sense of humor that he will always be remembered by. Buford was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Margaret; brothers David Raymond Sadler (Betty) and Keneth Eugene Sadler; daughter Melissa Green. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Carol Thomas Sadler of the home; siblings Daniel Robert Sadler (Pat), Agnes Arletta Miller (Kyle), Ellen Gaynor Bonham (Samuel), Patricia Ann Davis (Jimmy); children Marti Alice Sadler and stepdaughter Marita Gregory (Dale); grandchildren Mark Batton (Brett), Megan Batton, Crystal Lynn Crews, Alexis Tilley (Bray), Madison Gregory, and Victoria Gregory; great grandchildren Braxton Tilley, Georgia Tilley. Buford is also survived by many others whom he loved dearly.

Buford loved fishing, operating cranes, riding his four-wheeler, and eating at his favorite local restaurants. Buford loved to share stories of his mountain adventures growing up in West Virginia and would enjoy going back to visit with his wife and grandchildren. Buford is remembered for his adventurous spirit, charming personality, and the way that he developed quick relationships with nearly everyone he met. Buford had a servant heart and those who knew him have shared stories of how he always went above and beyond to help everyone he loved. Amongst all of Buford’s talents and abilities, he was a skilled craftsman who was known as a local “handyman” to all. Above all, Buford loved spending time with his family, especially his beloved wife Carol Sadler.

A celebration of life will be held on November 12th for close friends and family.
