Buford Franklin Martin

Mr. Buford Franklin Martin, 75, passed away on March 10, 2016 at his home. He was born on August 10, 1940 in Summers County, WV to Harry Franklin Martin and Cora May Tincher Martin. Buford served as a deacon at Hillcrest Baptist Church, where he was a member for 28 years. He was a Godly man who was also fun to be around. He enjoyed coon hunting and in his later years, baking cakes. More than anything, he loved spending time with his grandchildren who were the light of his life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Martin; and sister, Izetta Martin. Buford is survived by his loving wife, Ilene Tincher Martin; daughter, Rita Davis (Dennis); son, Todd Martin (Christy); daughter, Joy Freeman (Robert); grandchildren, Aaron Davis, Ashley Golden (Travis), Amber Nichols (Jeremy), Joshua and Savannah Martin, Katelyn and Tyler Craver, Anthony Davis, Brandon and Christopher Benedict; great grandchildren, Dylan Cook, Gideon Golden, Olivia Davis and Abby Davis; as well as sisters, Nancy Bragg (of WV), Shirley Mills (of NC), Betty Dodd (of GA); and brothers, Steve Martin (of CA), Bruce Martin (of WV), and William Martin (of WV). A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, March 14, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Tim Day and Rev. Junior Seawell officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the funeral home.
