Bruce Wolfe Whitaker

WHITAKER - WALKERTOWN Mr. Bruce Wolfe Whitaker passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on October 1, 1932 in Surry County to the late Lillie Wolfe Whitaker and Ellis Jackson Whitaker. Mr. Whitaker proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Mt Olivet United Methodist Church in Walkertown. Mr. Whitaker retired from Arrow Electronics with 33 years of service. He was a volunteer for the Shalom Project. Mr. Whitaker is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Kathryn Shore Whitaker; two daughters, Karen Whitaker and Kimberly Harris (Christopher) all of Winston-Salem; five siblings: Mary Ruth Mickey, Payge Hardy (Ralph), Donald Whitaker (Shelba), Phil Whitaker (Phyllis) and Lanny Whitaker (Kathy). A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 24 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Harlow and the Rev. Todd Cartner officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 23 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Mt.
