Bruce Walker

Bruce Carlyle Walker, 79, of Rural Hall passed away peacefully on December 23, 2020 surrounded by loved ones. He was born July 2, 1941 to the late Thomas Edward Walker and Ethel Lillian Walker. He was a graduate of Piedmont Bible College and retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company after 37 years. He is survived by his loving wife Carolyn Ketner Walker; son, Tim Walker (Nancy); daughter, Carla Gallimore (Jeff); five grandchildren, Jordan (Ashton) Walker, Chase Berrier, Allyson (Darrin) Casstevens, Bethany (Jordan) Webster and Caroline (TJ Guynn); five great-grandchildren, Brynlee, Aubree, Addalyn, Sawyer, Levi and one on the way, Reagan Layne; one brother, Jerry (Shirley) Walker, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was known as “Pop” to his many dear friends and family and enjoyed many things in life; gardening, watching basketball, going to the YMCA, and photography, but the thing he enjoyed most was reading his Bible every day and spending time with the Lord. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church in Rural Hall where he taught Sunday School, went on visitation, taught Bible College classes, and preached to the nursing home folks. “From dust to glory, a purpose revealed, transformed by His power, oh to be just like Him, an unbelievable story and yet it’s so real. From dust to glory, another promise fulfilled.”  A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, December 28, 2020 at Crestview Memorial Park with Pastor Jon White Officiating.  In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Freedom Baptist Church, PO Box 159, Rural Hall, NC 27045.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
