Bruce Allen Malboeuf

Fairport, NY- Bruce Allen Malboeuf, 65, passed away Monday September 2, 2013 at home with his family by his side. Bruce was born on December 29, 1947 in Rochester, NY to the late Clifford Joseph and Lillian Bryant Malboeuf. In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Chelsea Marie; sister, Sharon; brother, Clifford; and brother-in-law, Randy. Surviving are; his wife of 45 years, Diane; a son, Michael and his wife Jennifer of Livonia, NY; a daughter, Kristy and her boyfriend Bradley of New Hill, NC; a son, Brian and his wife Monica of Kernersville, NC; five grandchildren, Andrew, Alex, Faith, Carter and Cameron; one brother; five sisters; several nieces and nephews; a very special canine companion 'Sodus Bee' and many special friends. Bruce fought a courageous battle against cancer. He never gave up hope that he would beat it. Throughout his 65 years, Bruce continued to love and plan out the lives of his family. He also touched many lives along the way, but most importantly he was an unbelievable mentor to his wife, children and grandchildren. Bruce was proud of his service with the US Army in Vietnam back in 1968. He had a wonderful career with Xerox, which spanned 35 years and numerous positions within the Corporation. He was well respected by all who had the privilege to know and work with him. Bruce retired from Xerox in January, 2002 and cherished the 11 years that he had in retirement. During his retirement, Bruce did all the activities that he loved; he was a remarkable mentor to his grandchildren, a master woodworker in his basement, captain of his boat on Sodus Bay, 'snowbird' who spent months out of the year with his wife on the RV in Florida. His love of boating and traveling took him on many adventures, which brought him and his wife a lifetime of memories and friendships. Bruce left a legacy to his children and his grandchildren that is priceless and will be dearly missed. He was quoted as saying, 'Success will not be measured by your wealth or material things, it will be measured by whether or not your children WANT to come to your house for dinner on Sunday.' A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at New Covenant Fellowship with Pastor Michael McDonald officiating. Calling hours will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Saturday, September 7, at Richard H. Keenan Funeral Home located at 7501 Pittsford Palmyra Road. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Peterson and staff at Strong Memorial Hospital for their love and support. Contributions can be made in Bruce's memory to Golisano Children's Hospital in lieu of flowers.
