Bruce Allen Carter

Mr. Bruce Allen Carter, 78, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at his home. He was born July 13, 1937, in Forsyth County to the late Frank and Virgie Mae Carter. He was retired from the Winston-Salem Journal with over 57 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vicky Boyer Carter.

Surviving are two sons, Jeffery Wayne Carter of Stokesdale and Timothy Allen Carter of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Nancy Lawson and husband Muncie of Walkertown and Ruth Ann Simmons of Kernersville; a brother, James Carter and wife Joan of Pinnacle.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Dr. Bobby Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in the original Gospel Light Baptist Church Cemetery in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service.
