Mr. Bruce Baxley Beck, 81, of Mocksville died Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born May 19, 1928 in Davidson Couonty, the son of the late George Lee and Fannie Eva Higgins Beck. Mr. Beck was a member of New Philadelphia Moravian Church. He graduated from Guilford College and received a degree of Bacholar of Arts in Business. He retired from Sara Lee Corp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Lee Beck. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Jacqueline Marie Holder Beck; two sons, Bryan Bruce Beck of Clark Fork, ID and Karl Van Beck of Mocksville; four grandchildren, Karly Gray Beck and Cooper Baxley Beck of Mocksville, Adel Marie Beck Hodges and husband, Ralph and Able Dammon Beck of Leavenworth, WA; three great grandchildren, Tristan Michael Hodges, Cameron Taylor Hodges and Wyatt James Hodges of Leavenworth, WA. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 AM at God's Acre at New Philadelphia Moravian Church with Dr. Worth Green officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:30 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway.
