GALAX, VA- Bridgette Lee Broadstreet, loving daughter, granddaughter and friend, left this world unexpectedly to be with her Lord January 27th, 2015. She leaves behind her family and friends who will miss her beautiful smile, her dimples, and her infectious sense of humor.
She was born June of 1981 in Forsyth County, and lived in Kernersville NC. She graduated from East Forsyth High School. While in school, she played softball, and was a member of the All County Chorus her senior year. Beginning at an early age she attended Abundant Grace Tabernacle, and was given the spiritual gift of playing the piano never taking a lesson. She loved music, and loved to sing. After moving to Galax, Va. several years ago, she attended Cornerstone Community Church. She had many special friends at both churches which viewed her as her as family, especially the Jefferson family and Samantha Goad. She loved the Lord and working for Him.
She was employed as a cosmetologist first at Rayzors, then at Shear Perfections. She had many special friends at both places. She brought happiness to those around her with her jokes and sense of humor. Children always seemed to bond with Bridgette as her inner child always came out around them. In Galax she also had a support group which offered her help through meetings and counseling, and she loved all of them dearly. She had aspirations of becoming a counselor herself.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Vickie Broadstreet; grandfather, Stanley Pate; and her brother, Jason Lemar. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother, Sharon Simmons; stepfather Billy Simmons; stepsister, Lorie Thompson (Chris); her father Wesley Broadstreet; stepmother, Robin Broadstreet; and stepsister, Deanna Spainhour; grandmother Ida Mae Pate, and grandfather Herman Broadstreet; aunts, uncles, and cousins who love her from Burnsville, NC.; last but not least her little dog, Sadie who shared her life with her and she loved dearly.
A Funeral Service will conducted at 2:00 p.m Friday, January 30, 2015 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Mike Jefferson and Rev. Glenn Murphy officiating.
