Brian Smith

Mr. Brian Kenneth Smith, 56, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.  He was born March 13, 1963 in Forsyth County to the late Arlyss Kenneth Smith and Melrose Ramey Smith.  He was a 1981 graduate of North Forsyth High School.  Brian was born into a musically inclined family.  He had a passion for music and was an astounding drummer and musician.  He started playing drums at the age of two and continued on to play in several local bands.  Brian had a great love for animals, especially his own dogs: Sheila, Poncho, and LuLu.  He also enjoyed Halloween and was the owner/operator of the annual Terror Trail, where all proceeds where donated to the Animal Rescue and Humane Society.  In addition to his parents, Brian was preceded in death by one sister, Julie Smith.  He is survived by one sister, Melany Smith Dean and one nephew, Dustin Dean, to whom he was very close.  A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Thursday, May 23, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor Paul Hopkins officiating.  Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
