Brian Keith Cook

Brian Keith Cook, passed away on Tuesday, February 19th 2013 at his home in Winston Salem. Born to Harold and Barbara Cook on May 11th, 1964, he will be remembered as a loving, caring man who never turned his back on anybody. Brian graduated from Woodland Baptist Christian School and went to Tennessee Temple University until he was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 20. This began the battle that would define his life, not only for the pain he suffered but also the lives he touched. At that time he was not given much of a chance to live, but he defied the odds and not only lived but went on to graduate from Liberty University. He survived the cancer, but it left its toll on his body, he went through multiple hip replacements and developed diabetes at an early age. But this never slowed him down, working 14 hours a day at whatever job he could find, he found his passion at Goodwill Industries where he loved the people and they loved him. He was the store manager at the Peters Creek location at his passing, he leaves many friends and coworkers there that will always remember his sense of humor and his willingness to help anybody in need. His family is saddened by their loss, we have cried tears of sorrow and have an emptiness that will never be filled, but also tears of joy knowing that he is with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and will not feel any more pain. He attended and was saved by the grace of God at Marshall Baptist Church, they have lost a Sunday School teacher and friend to many. He leaves to cherish his memory his Parents, Harold and Barbara Cook of the home, and two brothers Michael (Janice) Cook, and Kent (Myra) Cook. He also leaves the apple of his eye his nieces Catherine (Cadye) Cook, and Myranda Cook and nephew Joshua Cook (Little Man). No matter how much he hurt he always had time for the children in his life that he could claim as his own. Visitation will be held at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall on February 22nd, 2013 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. The service will be held at Marshall Baptist Church on Saturday February 23rd, 2013 at 11:00am with burial to follow at church cemetery. Pastor John Holmes is officiating.
