Brenda Welborn

Mrs. Brenda Gail Messick Welborn, 68, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Forsyth County on November 21, 1949 to the late Evelyn Knight Messick and Grady R. Messick. Brenda was the manager of British Square Apartments for 9 years before becoming a homemaker. She loved traveling, especially to Ocean Dr. in Myrtle Beach and Gatlinburg, TN. She enjoyed cooking, baking, nature, and watching her hummingbirds. Brenda was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Mary Welborn. She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Steve Welborn; son, Jason Welborn (Selena); granddaughter, Megan "Nikki" Welborn (John); two brothers, Jack Messick (ChiChi) and Jerry Messick (Pat); brother-in-law, Ken Welborn (Gail); and several nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 13, at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. Brenda will be inurned at Crestview Memorial Park.
