Brenda Skipwith

Brenda (Bren) Skipwith age 65, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Friday, Nov. 12, 2021.  She was born in East Bend, NC on December 6, 1955 to James Calvin Davis, and Emma Phillips Davis, both of who proceeded her in death along with a brother, Larry.

She is survived by her husband Samuel (Skip) Skipwith III of whom she was married to for 43years. Her 2 daughters Cori (Chad) Skipwith of Myrtle Beach and Sami (Curry)Pickard of Clayton. Two grandkids Nadia and Roman of which she adored. Also a sister Pat of Angier.

Brenda graduated from Forbush High School in East Bend, NC. and then later moved to Winston-Salem, where she worked for the city for many years. Brenda was very involved in 4-H where she made a lot of lifelong friends. She was passionate about supporting teachers and students, and donated books throughout the years. She and Skip attended Fraternity Church of the Bretheren. She was also very involved in her neighborhood Gordon Manor, where she and Skip lived. She fostered a dog from the animal shelter,  Danica, that she fell in love with and adopted. Just recently she got a Scottish Terrier named Winston.

A funeral service will be held 12 noon Friday, November 19, 2021 at Hayworth-Miller Chapel. A visitation will be held one hour prior.
