Brenda Anne Long, of Winston-Salem, died Monday, March 30, 2010 at her home. Ms. Long was born January 20, (NYB) in Yadkin County, the daughter of the late Raymond Long and the late Ivy Long. In 1990 she founded Safe Back Up Systems, Inc. where she was employed. She was a gourmet cook, sang in the church choir and loved to play golf. She was a faithful member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was involved in the mission of Love the Orphans. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Long. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Rey Rodriguez; daughter, Deana Bonifay and husband Paul; granddaughter, Heather Nelson and husband Steve; great-granddaughter, Riley Nelson; and a sister, Betty Long. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, April 2, 2010 at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. David Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church FBO Love the Orphans Fund.
