CLOUD RURAL HALL - ""Lift up your hearts and peace to thee, God wanted me now; He set me free."" On Tuesday, December 28, 2010 Brenda Lenoris Cloud, of Medford, Massachusetts answered her Master's call. Her soul took flight across Heaven's stream where she crossed over into peace and tranquility. The late Zennie Eller Cloud and Nebraska Cloud gave birth to Brenda Lenoris Cloud on December 28, 1947 in Rural Hall, NC. She grew up in Rural Hall, graduated in 1966 from Carver High School and, as a life-long member of St. James United Methodist Church, developed an abiding love of God that was faithful even unto death. Brenda received a B.A. degree from NC A & T State University in 1970 and a Master of Social Work degree from Simmons College School of Social Work in Boston, MA in 1972. After graduation, she was employed as a Clinical Social Worker at Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA. She continued to serve as a counselor and clinician throughout her illustrious career and was a Senior Counselor with CMG Associates, Inc for the US Postal Service in South Boston, MA at the time of her passing. She was experienced as an EEO Investigator for the Veterans Administration, as an EEO counselor and in family therapy training. Within her community, she was an active member of ""The Night Owls"", a bid whist club in Boston and served on the following boards: Consumer Credit Counseling of Massachusetts, Bedford V.A. Credit Union, Medford Community Cablevision and Cooper Community Center. Professionally, she was associated with the National Association of Social Workers, the Academy of Certified Social Workers, the Boston chapter of the National Association of Black Social Workers and the Licensed Independent Social Workers. Brenda's memories are cherished by a brother, William Cloud, and a nephew, Corey Cloud of Rural Hall, whom she dearly loved; uncles Roland Eller of Clemmons, Aldean Cloud and Napolean Cloud of Winston-Salem, three cousins, Tyrone Sheff of Winston-Salem, Michael Sheff and Joseph Withers of Rural Hall; a dear friend, Scotty Speas of Rural Hall and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 8, 2010 at St. James United Methodist Church in Rural Hall with Reverend Cedric Henry officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 1:00 PM at the church on Saturday. The family suggests that memorials be made to Brenda's beloved NC A & T State University, 1601 E. Market Street, Greensboro, NC 27411. Davis Funeral Home, Boston MA and Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, Rural Hall Chapel are serving the Cloud family.
