Bonny Lou Lutzy Michalec

Ms. Bonny Lou Lutzy Michalec, 74, passed away September 11, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born November 25, 1938 in Syracuse, NY to the late Frederick David Lutzy and Ermine Fidler Lutzy. Ms. Michalec was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and was formerly the Assistant Director of the pre-school Christian education department. She was the owner and director of The Children's House Day Care and subsequent to her retirement was employed with Kohls. She will always be remembered as a wonderful loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother. She is survived by five children, Melissa Brown and husband Paul, Sheri Turpin, Michael Michalec and wife Cheryl, Lauree Kruyer and husband Peter, Jon Michalec and wife Michelle; eleven grandchildren, Kristina, Patrick, Benjamin, Alexandra, Rebecca, Justin, Sarah, Nicholas, Samuel, Joshua, and Alexa; three great-grandchildren, Kylie, Zoe, Lorali and her sister, Muriel Hickey. A funeral service in celebration of her life will be held at 2:00pm, Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Darby Everhart officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Carecenter, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or to Cancer Services, 3175 Maplewood Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
