KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Bonnie Sears King Wilkins, 89, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012, at Whitestone Masonic Home, Greensboro, NC. Bonnie was born November 17, 1923, in Yadkin County, NC, to the late Early Gray and Etta Davis Sears. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank King, in 1985; her second husband, James Wilkins, in 2006; nine brothers, Thurman, Davis, Early (Honey), Carl (Snook), Roy, Fred, Elwood, Billie and Jimmie Sears; her sister Mary Emily Cranfill. She is survived by her son, Arnold King (Kimberly) of Kernersville; her daughters Carol (Dennis) Whicker of Kernersville and Cheryl (Tony) Collins of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Bart Whicker of Kernersville, Kristi (Chris) Meadows of Hampstead and Taylor Collins of Greensboro; two great-grandsons, Conner and Collin Meadows of Hampstead; her brother, Dalton (Betty) Sears of Clemmons; her sister Nina Sears Bryant of Pawley's Island, SC; sisters-in-law Louise Sears, Helen Sears and Lynda Sears; numerous nieces and nephews. Bonnie was a homemaker and a day care provider for numerous children who affectionately referred to her as ""Ma King."" Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was especially fond of cooking for her family and friends and always made sure each guest was treated to their own favorite dish. Bonnie was a member of Buffalo Primitive Baptist Church. A private graveside service will be held on Friday, November 30. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Friday, November 30, at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Buffalo Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Harold Mabe, 3584 N.C. Hwy 8 North, Danbury, NC 27016, or to a charity of donor's choice.
