Bonnie B. Simms, wife of Charles A. Simms, Jr. – deceased in 2000. Bonnie was born on May 11, 1934, in Winston-Salem, NC to Henry Clay Bowman and Stella Boggs Bowman. Bonnie graduated from Elkin High School and then High Point University. She was a member of the Scholastic Honor Society of High Point University. She taught history at Mount Tabor High School and was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa sorority. Served as a Docent for Reynolda House – Museum of American Art.

Bonnie is survived by a sister, Jean Bowman Killebrew and her children, Karen, Kathy, Todd and Mark. Also, children of her late husband include Jeanette Raynor, Joy Larkin and Judy Speas. Her longtime helpers and friends are Laru Cline, Ann Johnson, Nancy Gilbert and Rebecca Wilson. Sincere and grateful thanks to Dr. Patricia Zekan for her expert care for many years.

Bonnie was a lifelong Christian who belonged to churches within the Southern Baptist Convention. She devoted many hours of service to her community as a member of various musical groups offering her gift of music. A memorial service will be held at Brookridge Retirement Community in the Feezor Auditorium of the Independent Living Building on Saturday August 5, 2023, at 2:00 PM.
