Bonita Smith Hennings of Yadkinville, NC left us on October 8, 2014 at the age of 94. She was known to many as ""Mimi"", a name given to her by her oldest grandson, Scott. Her beloved husband, Bob Hennings preceded her in death as did her son, Russell Thompson, her grandson, Scott Hicks, and her son-in-law, Mickey Hutchens. Mimi was a very special person to so many people; she was an accomplished cook, a quick wit with an infectious laugh, and a gracious friend. Throughout her 94 years she believed that clothes should be ironed before being worn; her great-grandson, Mac, never wore an outfit that she had not ironed. Mimi had a special relationship with her grandson Stacey Hicks, who came to see her on many occasions and both enjoyed their spirited games of Rummy. She was a daily part of the lives of her granddaughters, Jillian Mullins and Leah Mitchell and contributed greatly to the woman they have become. She was quick to share with everyone she talked about her granddaughter and great granddaughter, Lora Hicks-Thorsby and Malary and their accomplishments in the riding ring, as well as her grandson Rod Hicks' three beautiful children, Kenzie, Mason and Maxwell. She had spent time over the years with her grandchildren Abraham Thompson, Kerri Thompson, Greg Tolley and Greta Arnold and great grandchildren, Will and RJ Arnold. She was a former resident of Crossnore, NC and Atlantic City, NJ. She leaves behind her daughters, Beth Hutchens of Yadkinville, Fran Hicks (Bob) of Davison, MI and Louise Tolley (Dean) of Elizabethton, TN, and son Kenneth G. Thompson of Charlotte, NC. She had a special niece, Candy O'Conner Jankowski of Marmora. There will be a sweet celebration of her life at a later date. Cards can be sent to her daughter, Beth Hutchens, at 3490 Old Hwy 421 E, Yadkinville, NC 27055. Online Condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
