Mr. Bobby Leon Willard, 75, passed away Monday, January 31, 2011 at his home in King. He was born in Stokes Co. on June 19, 1935 to the late Sandy Edgar Willard and Mattie Mabe Willard. Bobby was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He worked for Sealtest Dairy as a route salesman and then as truck driver for McLean Trucking and Yellow Freight from where he retired in 1998. Bobby loved his 1965 corvette and was a member of the Country Corvette Club. He also loved bluegrass music and played both the banjo and the guitar. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Sands. Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Jolene Montgomery Willard of the Home, three daughters, Pam Willard of King, Terri Childress and husband Joe of King and Tracy Willard of Winston-Salem, a granddaughter, Hannah Childress and a sister, Otelia Vaden of Westfield. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Lutz and Rev. Bill Baird officiating, Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 this evening Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
