Bobby William Rhodes

Mr. Bobby William Rhodes, 76, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born August 27, 1938 in Forsyth County to the late Hattie Hamlin Rhodes and Oscar Cicero Rhodes. Mr. Rhodes proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of United Baptist Church. He retired from AT&T and was also a master woodcarver. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rhodes was preceded in death by one brother, Winford Rhodes and two sisters, Marjorie Bowen and Faye Carter. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Wanona Rhodes; son, Mike Rhodes and wife, Terri; two grandsons, Alex and Nick Rhodes; one brother, Jack Rhodes; and a special friend, Roy Keaton. A memorial service will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 16 at United Baptist Church with the Rev. Will Watson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: United Baptist Church Building Fund, 5815 Murray Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106 or Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
