Bobby Arnold Johnson

Mr. Bobby Arnold Johnson, age 80 passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Kate B Reynolds Hospice Care Center in Winston-Salem after an extended illness. He was born in Stokes County November 7, 1930 to the late Arnold Oscar and late Mary Tuttle Johnson. Bobby served in the United States Army during the Korean War and later retired from Biltmore Dairy Farms after 25 years of service. He was a member of Marshall Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. He served as an usher, a member of the Building Committee and also assisted with a Sunday School Class at Knollwood Hall for several years. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mabel Cleary Johnson, of the home. Two daughters, Tena Cornett and Gina (Freddie) Angles. Two grandson's, Ryan and Christopher Cornett and two step-granddaughters, Erika and Emily Angles. One sister, Phyllis Johnson of Winston-Salem. Three very special cousins, Steve, Mike, and Meta Johnson and a special friend, Frank Davis. A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall by Pastor John Holmes, Rev. Steve Johnson and Freddie Angles. Military Burial Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post 290 of King. There will be no formal visitation. Memorials may be made to Marshall Baptist Church Building Fund, 5739 Old Rural Hall Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105 or to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
