Bobby "Bob" Lee Gaither

Mr. Bobby ""Bob"" Lee Gaither, 80, of Winston-Salem went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 17, 2014. Bob was born in Davie County on March 2, 1934 to the late James B. Gaither and Eula N. Gaither. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Claude, Jack, and Charles Ray Gaither and one sister, Lucille Elliot. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Doris McDaniel Gaither; two daughters, Sabrina Sidden (James) of Lewisville and Regina Fortner (Thomas) of Advance; two sons, Jeffrey Gaither (Amy) of Pfafftown and Daniel Gaither (Melonie) of Greer, SC; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Gaither II, Robert Sidden, Emily Sidden, Erica Williams (Joshua), and Victoria Fortner; one great-grandchild, Lorelei Williams; two sisters, Pauline Lurye and Virginia Doby; one brother, Bill Gaither and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Bob retired from Sara Lee in 1996 after 38 years of service, and spent his retirement tending to his garden and visiting with neighbors. He was a member and Deacon of Jonestown Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Carroll Bibb officiating. Entombment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons. The family will receive friends from 6:30pm until 8:30pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. The family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice home care staff and the staff of the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for their loving care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
