Bobby Lee Flowers

Mr. Bobby Lee Flowers passed on into the immediate presence of his Lord and Savior on May 31, 2015. Bobby was born to Boyd Francis and Josie Myers Flowers on June 6, 1931. Bobby was a loving and giving man to his family and friends. His legacy is the example he set for us all in obeying the Lord's commandment to honor thy father and thy mother.
After serving in the Army as a paratrooper Bobby joined his father's plumbing business, Flowers & Sons Plumbing. He enjoyed plumbing because it gave him opportunities to meet and help others. After the passing of his father he continued on in the business with his mother Josie and Brother Super. Bobby and Super shared their skill and enjoyment of the trade with their sons and grandsons who continue in the plumbing business today.
Bobby loved and enjoyed his family and they will always remember the fun times together at Lake Norman and at family gatherings for holidays and birthdays. He was always in a positive mood approaching all circumstances with faith and humor. One of his granddaughters stated, ""He was always ready with a joke. The king of the one liner.""
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Boyd & Josie Flowers and his brother William Francis Flowers (Super). He is survived by his best friend for 64 years, Doris Hartman Flowers. Bobby and Doris have five children Sharon Edwards and husband Jerry, Robbie Steifel and husband Eric, Penny Minor and husband Ronnie, Bobby Flowers, Jr. and Patti Chambers and husband Neil. Bobby and Doris have 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Bobby is also survived by his sister-in-laws Annie Flowers and Phyllis Hartman; and a special cousin Dot Hardee.
A funeral service for Bobby will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. James C. Newsome, Jr. and Rev. Daniel K. Nelson officiating.
