Bobby Gray Easter

Mr. Bobby Gray Easter, 77, of Winston-Salem died at his home on Thursday, September 29, 2011. Mr. Easter was born March 2, 1934 in Surry County to the late Robert Zebedee and Mary Alice Edwards Easter. He graduated from Franklin High School and later continued his education at Forsyth Technical Community College and ECPI in Greensboro. He retired from Western Electric/Lucent in 1989 with 36 years of service and was a member of the CWA Retirees Club. He was an avid sports fan (Go Tar Heels!), participating in softball leagues when younger and particularly enjoying fishing in later years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Easter was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert William, Bruce, Johnny, and Terry and by his daughter-in-law, Eva. He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Honeycutt Easter of the home; his daughter, Debbie, of Winston-Salem; his son, Michael, and his grandson, Stetson, of State Road; his brothers, Doug (Agnes), Donnell (Dale), Rudy, and Buddy (Phyllis), his sister-in-law, Arlene Smith, and his brother-in-law, Ray Honeycutt, all of Mt. Airy; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with burial to follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday, September 30, 2011, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Donations can be made to the American Red Cross, 690 Coliseum Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
