Mr. Bobby Eugene Brown, 85, of Lexington, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at his home. He is safe in the arms of Jesus, his Lord and Savior, whom he loved dearly.

Bobby was born November 22, 1932 in Surry County to James Monroe Brown and Lucy Miller Brown. After high school, Bobby joined the U.S. Navy, where he proudly served during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. After retirement from the Navy, he owned and managed three restaurants in Jacksonville, FL. He was a member of First Baptist Welcome and loved spending time with his church family. He was also active with Davidson County Senior Citizens group. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by a wife, Flora Brown and son, Craig Alexander Brown.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Verna Brown; sons, Barry Brown and wife Beth, Timothy Brown and wife Gloria, all of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Nikki Rhodes, Nicholas Brown, both of Jacksonville, FL and Alex Brown, of Portland, OR; great-grandchildren, Colin and Aubrey, of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Frankie Sisk and husband Leslie of Lexington; brother, Delmont Brown of Kernersville; several nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Nancy Foster, Reva Bowen, Pat Hansley, Ann Cross, and Donna Walser.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 2 pm at First Baptist Welcome, 404 Welcome-Arcadia Road, Welcome, with Pastor Mark Blair officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Welcome, 404 Welcome-Arcadia Road, Welcome, NC 27374.
