Bobby Edward Bennett Sr.

Mr. Bobby Edward Bennett Sr., 86, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. He was born February 20, 1926 in Stokes Co. to the late Charlie Edward Bennett and Ethel Stanley Bennett. Mr. Bennett was a former deacon of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville and was currently a member of Vienna Baptist Church. He served our country during in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater during WWII. Mr. Bennett retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 32 years of service. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Hazel Bennett, a son, Stanley Bennett, three sister and four brothers. Mr. Bennett is survived by two sons, Bobby Bennett and wife Myra of Lawsonville and Robby Bennett and wife Tammie of Germanton, two grandchildren, Lisa Sheppard and Josh Bennett, three great-grandchildren, Hailey Sheppard, Jorel Bennett and Jaxson Bennett and one brother, Jack Bennett of Westfield. A graveside service will be conducted 12:00 noon Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Forsyth Memorial Park in Winston-Salem with Rev. Jeff Clawson officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Friday, March 30, 2012 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to; Stoney Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1035 Stoney Ridge Church Rd., Westfield, NC 27053.
