Bobby Jean Crews Beard

Winston Salem - Bobby Jean Crews Beard, age 64, a lifelong resident of Winston Salem, NC, passed away January 11, 2012 as a result of complications after surgery at Forsyth Medical Center. Bobby was born April 21, 1947 in Stokes County. She is survived by her husband Edward (Eddie) Lee Beard, two sons-Jason Edward Beard and wife Laura, James (Jimmy) William Beard and wife Bobbie, two grandchildren-Jessica Nicole (Nikki) Beard and James William (Will) Beard, Jr., and two step-grandsons-William Justin Routh and Michael Darren Routh, all of Winston Salem. In addition to numerous nieces and nephews, Bobby is survived by three sisters-Patsy Hancock of Dallas TX, Rachel Solomon and husband Talmadge of Kernersville NC, and Brenda Jones Pool of Mocksville NC. She was preceded in death by her parents James Hanford Crews and Evelyn A. and Elvin C. Jones. Bobby graduated from James A. Gray High School and has celebrated 46 years of marriage with Eddie. She and Eddie own and operate B&E Collectibles in Walnut Cove, NC. Bobby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and she adored their special friends Lee and Tanya Elliott and sons Bryce and Zane. Bobby was known for her love of pink flamingo collectibles and enjoyed caring for their many dogs and cats down through the years. A memorial service will be held at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home in Kernersville on Sunday January 15th at 4:00 pm; the family will greet visitors immediately following the service. Bobby was a breast cancer survivor; in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, 1106 Burke St. Winston Salem, NC 27101.
