Bobbie Hayes Schlotzhauer

Mrs. Bobbie Hayes Schlotzhauer, 77, passed away February 10, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center. Bobbie was born July 7, 1935 to John Theron Hayes and Mattie Pope Hayes in Grady County, GA. She was a long-time, active member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she served on numerous church committees. In addition, she enjoyed being an assistant in the Inner Rhythm Choir of Winston-Salem. Bobbie demonstrated a servant's heart toward all she met. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lavon Hayes, and sister, Elaine Stallings. Bobbie is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Carl Schlotzhauer of Winston-Salem; daughter, René Riley (Scott) of Cary, NC; grandsons, Justin and Brian Riley; brother, Curtis Hayes (Anza) of Sylvester, GA; sister, Lena Cooper of Ochlochnee, GA, and sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Troop of Shawnee, KS. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Jim Murr officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 2415 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
