Bobbie Jones

Mrs. Bobbie Jean Brown Jones, 77, of Winston-Salem, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Tuesday, December 6, 2017. She was born December 20, 1939, in Winston-Salem, to the late Mr. Claude Swanson Brown and Mrs. Glenna Bell Gilley Brown. Mrs. Jones was married to her husband, Mr. Larry Kendall Jones, for fifty years. She was a longtime member of College Park Baptist Church and worked for First Union Bank for over ten years. Mrs. Jones was an animal lover, especially her beloved basset hounds. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Mr. Billy Joe Brown, and a nephew, Mr. Terry Allen Brown. Surviving are a brother, Robert Allen Brown and wife Lola; two nieces, Sandra B. Ingram and husband Michael of Galax, VA., and Karon Duquemin and husband Charles of Lake Norman; one nephew, Michael J. Brown and wife Laurie; four great-nieces, Amy E. Ingram, Christine R. Ingram, Angela D. Ingram, and Terri R. Duquemin and fiancé Bill Taylor; four great-nephews, Simon M. Ingram and wife Hope, David B. Ingram and fiancé Sabrina Burch, Stephen C. Ingram, and Alex Duquemin; four great-great-nieces and nephews; two goddaughters, Leigh Howard and Traci Jermyn; and many beloved friends. The family would like to especially thank her caregiver, Mrs. Donna Black and the staff of Forest Heights Assisted Living for their loving care. A funeral service will be conducted in her honor, 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 9, 2017 at College Park Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Ramon Smith. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM at the church.
