KERNERSVILLE - Bobbie Jean Scott Hanlon, 76, died Friday, August 19, 2011, at Clare Bridge of High Point Place. Bobbie Jean was born April 15, 1935 in Montgomery County to the late Robert and Iolia McCaskill Scott. She worked as a waitress at Charlie Snow's Restaurant in Kernersville for many years and was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. Bobbie Jean was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She volunteered often, loved to bake and cook especially for shut-ins and the elderly. She also loved to share good laughs with her friends. Surviving are her four children, Carl (wife, Denise) Hanlon of California, Keith (wife, Tana) Hanlon, of Whispering Pines, Kimberly (husband, James) Allison, of Kernersville, and Kevin (wife, Denise) Hanlon of Winston-Salem; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren, one brother, Robert ""Buck"" Scott of Ellerbee; and one sister, Betty Ann Burton of Charlotte. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Dean and Dr. Brooks Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., Monday, August 22, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
