Winston-Salem- Mrs. Bobbie Jane Shore Gentry died peacefully in her sleep on September 21, 2010. She was born on April 7, 1933 to the late Claude and Lucy Miller Shore of Boonville, North Carolina. During her lifetime, Mrs. Gentry worked as a secretary for both Wachovia Bank and Trust and for First Christian Church in Asheville. Mrs. Gentry and her late husband, John Gentry, owned and operated Gentrees Christmas Trees and Grower Supplies in Candler, NC before returning to Winston-Salem to enjoy retirement. They were active members of First Christian Church. Throughout her life, she served God and others through her church, local schools, and community organizations. She is preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband of 48 years, John Gentry. She is survived by her three daughters, who will miss her greatly: Melissa Causby and husband Chris of Morganton, Susan Gray and husband Scott of Raleigh and Allison Szuba and husband Robert of Wirtz, Virginia. She is survived by eight loving grandchildren; Matthew, Neal, and Grant Causby; Emily, Samuel, and Elijah Gray; and Christopher and Kristy Szuba. The funeral service will be held Thursday, September 23rd at 2:00 PM at First Christian Church with the Reverend Dr. Mike Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 PM at Deep Creek Friends Meeting in Yadkin County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the wonderful staff of Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for all of the care and compassion extended to our mother, as well as to our many friends and family who have seen us through this difficult time.
