Bobbie Rae Basnight

KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Bobbie Rae Basnight, 82, a precious wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and best friend went home to be with her Lord Sunday, July 29, 2012. She was born May 10, 1930 in Tyrell Co. to the late Alton and Lelia Chesson Basnight. Bobbie was a caring woman, although shy, she has blessed many through her acts of kindness. Our hearts are heavy that she had to go home, but we also rejoice that she suffers no longer and is now able to walk unassisted on the streets of gold. Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Dennis Albert Basnight of the home; two daughters, Nancy Mays of Greenville, TN, Denise Peddycord and husband, Alan of Kernersville; four grandchildren, Sarah Church, Stephanie Mays, Daniel Peddycord and Jill Peddycord; eight great-grandchildren; and three special cousins, Betty Lou Mebane, Cora Gallop, and Jackie Daniels. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Kernersville Church of Christ with Rev. Larry Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. A special thank you to Hospice and Palliative CareCenter.
