Bobby Gray Jones, 77, graduated to Heaven on September 9, 2013 and he now has his wings. Bob was surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren and died peacefully at Forsyth Medical Center. Bob was born February 15, 1936 in Forsyth County to the late James R. Jones, Sr. and Thelma Russell Jones. He graduated from Gray High School in 1955 and worked for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. for 33 years. Bob was a member of Tarheel Cutlery Club. He enjoyed selling and trading knives. He was often called ""The Knife Man."" Bob enjoyed spending days at the Barn playing Rook with his buddies. He also enjoyed having his Old Timey Trade Days at the Barn for 39 years. He enjoyed rabbit hunting and trading dogs. He enjoyed Blue Grass music, spending time with his family and he especially treasured his time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, James R. Jones, Jr. and Russell Thomas Jones. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Wanda Stilley Jones; three children, Robin G. Jones, Dwain G. Jones (Kathy), and Shannon B. Jones; three grandchildren, Colton, Spencer, and Brittany Jones; and a very special friend to the family, Sandra Pruitt. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Minister Kent Allen, and Reverend Bert Mathis officiating. Interment will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home, from 12:00-2:00 PM, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. The Jones family would like to thank Sammy (Cities) and George (Time to Eat) and all of Bob's Greek friends who provided him with his favorite foods while he was in the nursing home. The family would especially like to thank Dr. James R. Dilley for taking such special care of Bob during his illness. They would also like to thank the many friends that visited him at the nursing home on a regular basis; this meant so much to him. His family knows he is walking the roads of Heaven and giving out a knife to everyone. Until we meet again, you will forever be in our hearts.
