Bob L. Hutchins

Mr. Bob L. Hutchins, 87, passed away Thursday, October 23, 2014, at his home. He was born April 30, 1927 to Grover and Esther Hutchins. Mr. Hutchins served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired from the Journal-Sentinal Newspaper with 40 years of service. He was a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and taught Sunday School. Mr. Hutchins enjoyed woodworking. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Karol Williams; two brothers and two sisters. Surviving is his wife of 67 years, Helen Rhyne Hutchins; son, Dan Hutchins and wife Wanda; two grandchildren, Tammy Carter and husband Jerry, Matthew Cole and wife Nicki; five great grandchildren, Autumn, Paxton, Keifer, Craigan, and Austin. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Dr. Gus Thomas, Dr. Cecil Cave, and Rev. David Wood officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mineral Springs Baptist Church, 5460 Skylark Road, Pfafftown, NC 27040 or to Crestwood Baptist Church 530 Motor Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105.
