Billy Myers

Mr. Billy Stimpson Myers, 79, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022.  He was born January 2, 1943, in Forsyth County to the late Roy Cletus Myers and Clara Lee Hammonds Myers.  Billy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he worked as a crypto-communications operator.  He served his tenure in the military in Union Cross Radar Station, North Carolina and Goose Bay, Labrador, Canada.  Billy always was helping people any way he could, and had a strong passion for woodworking.  In addition to parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Deanna Myers and sister, Doris Purgason.  Billy is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carol Ann Crayton Myers; son, Buddy Myers (Amy); two brothers, Floyd Myers (Fran) and Gurney Myers (JoAnne); and many special nieces and nephews.  A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 31st at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
