Billy Ray Simmons

Colfax - Billy Ray Simmons, 75, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at his home. He was born July 19, 1935 in Guilford Co. to the late Mitchell and Opal Tucker Simmons. Billy was owner and operator of Simmons Well Drillers. In addition to his parents he was preceded by his wife, Mary Smith Simmons and son, Phillip Simmons. Surviving are his son, Tom Simmons and wife, Deanie of Colfax; two daughters, Tonia Mills and husband, Brad of Oak Ridge, Sonia Plaster of Colfax; five grandchildren, Alex, Whitney, Cole, Mason, and Blake; three brothers, Joe, Harold, and Rex Simmons; two sisters, Judy Westmoreland and Linda Ricafrente. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Dr. Pete Kunkle and Rev. Wayne Branch officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
