Mr. Billy Henry Shelton, Sr., 81, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. He was born in Forsyth Co. on July 26, 1932 the son of the late Samuel S. Shelton and Emma Boyer Shelton. Mr. Shelton was a Baptist Minister for over 40 years and served his country proudly during the Korean War in the U.S. Army. He loved to fish and work on old cars. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Zora Lee Foster Shelton. Mr. Shelton is survived by five daughters, Deborah Fulcher (Don) of King, Wanda Tulbert (Gary) of Pfafftown, Sherry Jolly (David) of Lexington, Tammy Lyerly (Kevin) of Rural Hall and Teresa Golden (Neal) of Clemmons, two sons, Billy Joe Shelton of King and Billy Shelton, Jr. of Mooresville, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one sister, Annie Rucker and a special nephew, J.C. Shelton. A graveside with military rites will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 this evening, Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
