Billy Charles Parker

Kernersville-Mr. Billy Charles Parker, 79, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born May 13, 1930 in Surry County to the late Sidney E. and Bertie Wall Parker. Mr. Parker was of the baptist faith and was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from AT&T where he worked his entire career in technical writing and engineering. Surviving is his wife Barbara; son, Dan; brother-in-law, Richard Hicks and wife Brenda and a sister-in-law, Becky Joyce. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, December 11, 2009 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Richard G. Hicks officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
