Billy Eugene Myers

Mr. Billy Eugene Myers, age 75 of Advance, died Friday, December 19, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born June 10, 1933 in Davie County to the late Ollie and Florence Boger Myers. Mr. Myers was a member of Elbaville United Methodist Church, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and had retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 35 years of service. Surviving is his wife, Elizabeth ""Lib"" Myers of the home; three children, Carolyn M. Gough and husband Roy of Clemmons, David Myers of Jacksonville, FL. and Richard ""Rick"" Myers and wife Crystil of Advance; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Hazel Phelps of Advance; three brothers, Raymond C. Myers of Easley, SC, Travis Lee Myers of Rural Hall and Alvin L. Myers and wife Betty of Advance; several nieces and nephews and a special thanks to Glenn Myers, Nancy Reavis and Christa Myers. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at Elbaville United Methodist Church by Rev. Kirk Tutterow. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
