Billy Lewis Minor

Mr. Billy Lewis Minor, age 80 of Advance, died Friday, September 23, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born November 24, 1930 in Davie County to the late Lewis and Ella Mae Frye Minor. Mr. Minor spent most of his working life in the Dairy Industry as a truck driver and later retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. Preceding him in death are two children, Sandra Williams and Ricky Minor. Mr. Minor is survived by his wife of 61 years, Thelma Lewis Minor of the home; three sons, Billy D. Minor and wife Kathy of Advance, Dicky Minor of Madison and Timothy L. Minor and wife Cathy of Elkin; six grandchildren, Angela M. Richards, Michelle Lovelace, Monica W. Mize, Jason Minor, Summer Harm and Matthew Minor and eleven great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, September 26, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel by Rev. Christopher Burcham. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
