Billy "Bill" Ray Leamon

Billy ""Bill"" Ray Leamon, 86, went to his eternal rest Saturday March 26, 2016. He was born in Winston Salem, NC, April 21, 1929 to Robert Noah & Edna Holland Leamon who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a sister Betty Leamon Byrum. He was married to Faye Swain Leamon for over 50 years and was a devoted and loving husband until her death in October 2001. Bill truly loved all his family and is survived by his sons, Mike Leamon and wife Carol of Advance, NC; Steve Leamon and fiancé Ana Moreno of Greensboro, NC; sister Carol Cartner and husband, Rev. J Dwight Cartner of Lexington, NC; brother Burton Leamon and wife Dorothy of Clemmons, NC; and sister in law Hallie Swain Brown of Houston, Texas. Bill also leaves behind to cherish special memories with Paw Paw, grandchildren Stephanie Troche and husband Steven of Lohe, Germany; Allison Leamon of Greensboro, NC; Kacie Shaver of Winston Salem, NC and an adopted grandson Sergio Moreno of Greensboro, NC. Bill is also survived by two great grandchildren who knew him as Papa Chocolate, Sophie and Xander Troche of Lohe, Germany. Bill also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who all loved Uncle Bill. Bill graduated from Gray High School and business college in Winston Salem, NC and had a long and distinguished career with the Bank of America organization and its predecessors. Bill held management positions in Winston Salem, Charlotte and finally in Greensboro before his retirement. After his retirement from banking, he and Faye moved to Belews Lake where Bill worked and lived at Carolina Marina for a number of years. During their time in the Stokesdale area they joined Palestine United Methodist Church where Bill served on the building committee. He was active in the church as long as his health allowed. A celebration of life service will be held for Bill Tuesday March 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home at 3315 Silas Creek Parkway in Winston Salem, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will follow at Palestine United Methodist Church at 2954 Ellisboro Rd, Stokesdale, NC. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Palestine United Methodist Church, 2954 Ellisboro Rd, Stokesdale, NC, 27357.
