Mr. Billy Gwynn Leagans, 85, of Winston-Salem died Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at Forest Heights Assisted Living. He was born August 4, 1925 in Booneville, the son of the late, Joe Thomas and Mary Bolin Leagans. Mr. Leagans was a faithful member of South Fork Baptist church where he was an usher and greeter. He served with the US Army during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Sappenfield Leagans. Survivors include one son, Steve Leagans and wife, Wanda of Mocksville; one daughter, Marilynn Hauck and husband, Gary of Rural Hall; one granddaughter, Michelle; one sister, Hazel Freeman and husband, Chessie of Troy and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted Monday at 10:00 AM at Saint's Delight Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Chaplain Craig S. Walker officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway.
