Billy Lee Englebert passed away December 2, 2021at the age of 83. Bill was born March 25, 1938 to the late Roland and Athalia Englebert. He grew up in Millers Creek, NC where he said “Millers Creek was the center of the Universe where the sun always shined.” Bill was brother to the late Clayton Englebert, Hubert Englebert, Ronald Englebert, Gene Englebert. He is survived by his sister Evelyn (Tom) Vannoy. Bill graduated from West Wilkes High School in 1956 and served in the Navy in 1956-1957. He is survived by the love of his life Dexter Sheets Envglebert, the couple married 1959. During their marriage of 62 years Bill and Dexter had 3 children Christopher (Tonia) Englebert, Marc (Madison) Englebert, and Nicole (Don) Englebert Huttar. Bill is survived by his children and grandchildren, Alex Englebert, Sean Englebert, Genevieve Huttar, Oliver Englebert, and Olivia Englebert. He is survived by one great grandchild Genevieve Nicole. After leaving the Navy Bill was employed as a factory worker, Service Station Owner and Operator and Odd Jobs until entering Appalachian State University in 1961 and graduated with a B.S. in Social Science in 1965. After completing college Bill worked as a Teacher in High School (Wilkes Co.), Middle School (Mecklenburg Co.), served as a part time Instructor at Forsyth Technical Community College, and also worked part-time as a Management Trainer in various capacities throughout the remainder of his career. Bill left the academic world early in his career and entered the exciting world of business in the Greater Forsyth County NC area. He worked in Hospital Administration at Forsyth Medical Center, Human Resource Management and Labor Relations at Westinghouse Electric Corp., Gravely International, Burns Aerospace and B.E. Aerospace Corp. Throughout his career Bill also served as a leader in many civic and business organizations such as: President, Winston-Salem Society for Human Resources Management, President, Board of Directors Winston-Salem Family Services, Member of the Board for, The United Way, Cystic Fibrosis, Winston-Salem Jaycees, and Advisory Boards and Committees for : High Point University, Appalachian State University, Winston-Salem State University and Forsyth Technical Community College. He also served as member and was an instructor at seminars for: The Committee for Labor and Management Relations, North Carolina State University and many other similar groups. Bill credits his successful career as an educator and as a business executive in-part to the discipline and training learned in the military. In his free time Bill spent countless hours with his photography patiently waiting for the perfect shot. He also enjoyed working on and restoring Jaguar cars, over the years he owned many models of Jaguars, however he was most proud of his 1969 E-Type Coup. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 26, 2022 at the Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel.
