OAK RIDGE - Mrs. Billie Lowrey Redman, 80, wife of fifty-seven years to the late Herbert H. Redman, died October 8, 2011 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. Billie was the daughter of the late Samuel Coy and Ina Dillon Lowrey. Billie was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church and served as youth director and sponsor for many years. She was well known for her work as owner and President of Carte Cosmetics Inc. and director of consultants in several states. She is survived by a brother, Thad Moore Lowrey of New Port Richey, Florida and his wife Bobbie, and two sisters, Janie Lowrey Clendenin of Julian and Marie Lowrey Armstrong of Oak Ridge. Also surviving are Billie's four nieces and nephews and a host of beloved members of Herb's family. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel. Burial will follow at Union Grove Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Maintenance Fund, 5424 Union Grove Rd., Oak Ridge, NC 27310 or Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.
