KERNERSVILLE-Billie James Ebert, 83, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2011 at High Point Regional Hospital. He was born in Forsyth Co. to the late Edmond James and Eva Elizabeth Sapp Ebert. Mr. Ebert was a member of First United Church of Christ in Winston Salem and a United States Navy veteran. He retired after many years with AT&T. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Don Ebert. Surviving are his beloved wife of 61 years, Delphine Campbell Ebert of the home; two sons, James Brent Ebert of Duluth, GA, Alan Campbell Ebert and wife Diane of Kernersville; three grandchildren, Emily Benane, Andy and Jimmy Ebert; seven great-grandchildren, Shayla, Gavin, Estella, Alaina, Oran, Daniel and Nolan A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at First United Church of Christ with Rev. Elizabeth Parker Horton officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
