Bill McCelland Moore

Mr. Bill McCelland Moore, 87, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Saturday April 30, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mr. Moore was born on February 14, 1924 in Wilkes County, NC to the late William and Minnie Mae Moore. Bill worked as a mechanical engineer with Landingham Heating and Plumbing for the majority of his career. He was a life-long resident of North Carolina and served his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1944-1946. He was an avid bird hunter and loved his dogs. Preceding Mr. Moore in death along with his parents are his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Jean Moore; a sister, Daisy Bostian and a brother, Pete Moore. Surviving Mr. Moore are two sons, Rackard ""Rick"" Lee Moore and Jeffrey Norman Moore (Barbara) of Advance, NC; two daughters, Deitra Reavis (Jim) of North Wilkesboro and Lisa Cooper (Brad) of Rock Hill, SC; one sister, Barbara of Mooresville, NC; five grandsons, Andy Moore, Danny Moore, Jarron Moore (Karla), Brandon Reavis (Pam) and Jordan Cooper ; three granddaughters, Jaime Powell (Jason), Jessica Prescott (Todd) and Sara Cooper (Jason); four great-grandchildren, Kylie, Jayden, Maxwell and Julia. A graveside service will be conducted at a later date at Forsyth Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 101 Hospice Ln. Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren wish in lieu of flowers that all donations be made to Hospice for their support and loving care they provided Bill during his illness.
