CAMPBELL - WINSTON-SALEM Mr. Bill Rance Campbell passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born on May 5, 1923 in Kanawha County, WV to the late Pansy M. Campbell and Rance E. Campbell. Mr. Campbell proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Force during World War II and the Korean Conflict and later became a member of American Legion Post 55. He was an elected member to the elite Forty & Eight Organization, originally an arm of the American Legion. Mr. Campbell retired from Motor Convoy in 1982 with 21 years of service and was a member of Teamsters Union Local 391. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his wife, Erma J. Campbell; son, Gregory; and siblings: Kathyleen Morris, Joan Ebert and Wanda Campbell. Surviving are three children: Donald Campbell (Cheryl) of Rural Hall, Myrna C. Throckmorton (Darrel) of Walkertown and Dreama C. Stack (Larry) of Winston-Salem; seven grandchildren: Doug Stack (Laura), Mark Stack (Victoria), Erik Throckmorton (Susan), Tara Campbell, Petra Cromer (Alan), Kyle Young and Cory Young; nine great-grandchildren: Campbell, Zoe, Jillian, Raegan, Kaya, Nicholas, Jacob, Evan and Madeline (soon to arrive); four siblings: Betty Parsons, Robert L. Campbell (Marcella), Charles N. Campbell (Jean) all of Charleston, WV and James D. Campbell (Mozelle) of Winston-Salem; and also, a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor David Harmon officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park with military honors provided by the National Guard and the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 19 at the funeral home.
