Beverly Carolina Hoy Turkaly

Mrs. Beverly Carolina Hoy Turkaly, 84, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on December 18, 1940, to the late Edward E. Hoy and Margaret M. May Hoy in Allegheny County, PA. 

Beverly was an avid reader and loved working on puzzles. She and her loving husband of 60 years, Marc, loved going on cruises together and exploring new places. Beverly had a deep love of sewing and crafting, especially cross stitch. She worked at Piece Goods for a few years after her children had finished school. Beverly loved bowling; she was part of a bowling league for many years. She was also a Women’s Auxiliary Member of the Knights of Columbus working alongside her husband participating and helping prepare meals for the members. Beverly loved baseball, she was a lifelong fan of the Pittsburg Pirates team, she never missed a game. 

Beverly and Marc lovingly chose to be parents to their two children, Connie and Mark. She was a devoted wife and mother to her family, always volunteering at their school events, and even keeping score during their sports games. 

Along with her parents, Beverly was preceded in death by her husband, Marc Anthony Turkaly; sister, Constance Hoy; brother, Edward “Skip” Hoy; and sister, Phyllis Lovas.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie (Tim) Blackwell; son, Mark (Michelle) Turkaly; grandchildren, Eric and Matthew Katsamas, Melissa Blackwell, Kyle Taylor, and Natalie, Madison, Alex, and Catherine Seskar; great grandson Thomas Anthony Seskar; brother, Phillip (Janice) Hoy; and sister-in-law, Mary Hoy.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 2pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. John Bishop officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1pm. A private burial service will follow.
