Beverly Edith Benz Massie

Mrs. Beverly Edith Benz Massie, 77, passed away Monday, January 12, 2009. She was born June 10, 1931 in Allegheny County, PA to the late John Paul Benz and Edith Herchenroether Benz. Mrs. Massie was a member of Jefferson Church of Christ in Rural Hall. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Massie was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Massie, Sr. Surviving are her daughter, Debra Massie and husband, Lee Pittman of Newport; two sons, James Massie Jr. and wife, Jolene of Winston-Salem and David Massie and wife, Ralphine of Walnut Cove; two grandchildren, Trey Massie and Jodi Sparks and husband, Tim; three great-grandchildren, Taylor Massie, Caydon and Teagan Sparks; also, one sister, Kathryn Hallenbeck of TX. There will be a private graveside service conducted for the family on January 15th. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Jefferson Church of Christ Building Fund, 8200 Jefferson Church Road, Rural Hall, NC 27045.
